Wrap up of the Breedflat project
In late April, A2S researcher Lourenço Ramos Pinto returned to Bergen, Norway, for the final meeting of the Breedflat project. An occasion to celebrate the strong bonds formed among all participating research institutes, universities, and companies.
The Breedflat project focused on boosting the performance of flatfish breeders by enhancing their immune systems and providing key nutrients for successful reproduction. The team created customized feeds for breeders and developed advanced tools to assess reproductive and immune system functions. These innovations are paving the way for the production of robust juveniles through optimized breeder nutrition, marking a significant step forward for sustainable flatfish aquaculture. The future looks promising for flatfish and for sustainable aquaculture!
