Climate Smart & Safe Aquaculture Conference 2025

At the recent Climate Smart & Safe Aquaculture Conference 2025, held on May 21–22 in IPMA, in Lisbon, our team presented innovative research contributing to the future of resilient and sustainable aquaculture.

Tonka Buha delivered an engaging oral presentation titled “Comparison of skin transcriptomic profiles in the context of transport induced acute stress response in Atlantic salmon, European seabass and rainbow trout”. Inês Ferreira shared her work in a poster presentation titled “Microbiome analysis of sediment and water near salmon cages: seasonal and environmental impacts”.

Both their work was developed in the framework of the IGNITION project.

Their contributions reflect our commitment to tackling aquaculture challenges and fostering a climate-smart future for the industry.
