Production of dsRNAs targeting viral and bacterial shrimp pathogens using the microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia
Coordinated by CIIMAR

ChlamyR7 could contribute to the development of a new oral anti-multiviral and antibacterial therapy to enhance the immune response of shrimp (with the potential to inhibit 4 of the 10 pathogens listed by the OIE). ChlamyR7 brings together researchers with expertise in modulating shrimp immune responses (CIIMAR), specialists in microalgae biotechnology (Purton’s Lab, UK), and experts in RNAi mechanisms applied to shrimp (CENTEX).
