Discussing Climate Resilience and Mollusc Adaptation at Pint of Science

Last Tuesday, Sergio Fernández-Boo had the pleasure of speaking in his hometown of Boiro, Galicia, as part of Pint of Science ES, sharing insights from the ShellFishBoost project on climate resilience and the genetic adaptation of molluscs.

The topic resonated strongly with the audience, especially given the significant challenges facing Galicia’s shellfish sector in recent years. Around 70 attendees—including mollusc producers, fishermen, retailers, and local community members—joined the discussion, highlighting the importance of connecting research with those directly affected by environmental change.

A sincere thank you to the Pint of Science ES Boiro team for the invitation and warm welcome, with special thanks to Noa Caramés Vila, RTTP, and Curi Boiro for making the event possible.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and returning soon!
